According to Genesis, God made the Garden of Eden a very special place. God wants the whole earth to be just like that beautiful garden.
However, in our days global warming, dirty air, polluted waters, toxic wastes, earthquake, and even terrorist attack are just a few of the maladies of our very ill earth. And now those terms usually appear in the headlines too often. Since contamination of our planet is now so pervasive, it likely already affects more than one aspect of our lives. Whether we realize it or not, the wholesale destruction of the earth’s environment affects the vast majority of people.
Let us take a look some aspect that help us to understand why our earth is not just mildly indisposed but, instead, seriously ill.
1. GLOBAL WARMING

Many scientists believe that human activity is a major factor, beginning with the industrial revolution and the subsequent increase in the use of fossil fuels, such as coal and oil. Another factor involves rampant deforestation. Forests serve as lungs for our environment. Trees absorb some of the greenhouse gases that produce global warming. However, the cutting away of large amounts of forest results in leaving increasing amounts of these gases in our atmosphere. In order to address these problems, world leaders have convened climate summits.
“If present rates of global warming continue and production of carbon dioxide is not curtailed, many scientists believe that the Earth’s average temperature will continue to rise, resulting in wilder and more unpredictable climatic swings and higher ocean levels that could threaten the low-lying coastal areas where much of humanity makes its home.”—A Mind for Tomorrow: Facts, Values, and the Future.
2. TOXIC WASTES

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the United Stated generated nearly 40 million tons of hazardous waste in 2007. Dumping of harmful materials both on land and in the sea is a serious problem that has the potential for bringing great harm to millions. Radioactive wastes, heavy metals, and by-products of plastics are among elements that can cause abnormalities, sickness, or death in humans and animals.
3. FORESTS

Deforestation has many negative sides to it. Loss of trees results in a reduction in the earth’s capacity to absorb carbon dioxide, and this is said to be a cause of global warming. Certain species of plants, the potential source of lifesaving medicines, will disappear. Nevertheless, forest destruction continues unabated. In fact, the rate of destruction has increased in recent years. Some authorities feel that if this persists, tropical forests could disappear in about 20 years.
And now a day we facing another threat that shake the whole world, and I’m sure a lot us notice about this, which they called “Doomsday Clock”. The president and CEO of the “Bulletin of the Atomic of Scientist” Rachel Bronson said “it is two minutes to midnight, as close as the world has even been to the hour of apocalypse”. If you scared outright by the barrage of bad news, well you are not alone. In 2014, Barack Obama, who was then president of the United States, suggested that because of all the bad things reported in the press, many conclude “that the world is spinning . . . fast and nobody is able to control it.”
Is there anything we can do to save our world? Well the solution is in our hand it must be start on us, even though we can’t control the action of most people around us, does not mean that the situation is hopeless. Such acts may seem like small things, but if each of the billions of individuals on earth were careful about how to treat the earth, it could make a difference. Such things as being conservative in the use of energy, cooperating with recycling programs, and disposing of trash properly make a contribution toward preserving the environment. In fact, millions of people believe in a bright future. They profess to have evidence showing that mankind and our planet will survive indefinitely and that our quality of life will improve. . By our habits we can demonstrate our care for the earth now.
